See what your photo reveals
Drop a photo to see its hidden GPS location, camera, serial number and date, then download a clean copy.
Drop photos here (JPEG, PNG or WebP)
Photos never leave your device. Everything happens in your browser, even offline.
Why remove photo metadata?
Phones and cameras save hidden details inside each photo, called EXIF data. It can include the exact GPS location where the photo was taken, the date and time, and the device model and serial number. When you share the original file by email, in a marketplace listing, or on a forum, anyone who downloads it can read those details.
How NoGeotag works
- Choose or drop your photos.
- NoGeotag shows what it found, such as location, camera and date, and removes it.
- Download the clean copies. The image itself isn't re-compressed, so quality is exactly the same.
Questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The page reads and rewrites the file in your browser's memory. Nothing is sent to a server, and you can even use it with your connection turned off once the page has loaded.
Does it reduce quality?
No. Only the metadata blocks are cut out; the image data is copied byte for byte.
What does "keep rotation" do?
Phones often store photos sideways and add a small "rotate this" note. Removing that note can make photos appear sideways, so by default NoGeotag keeps just that one harmless tag in JPEGs. Untick it to remove everything.
Which formats work?
JPEG, PNG and WebP. iPhone HEIC photos aren't supported yet; share them as JPEG first (most apps do this automatically when you share).
Don't social networks remove this anyway?
Many big platforms strip location data from public images, but email attachments, cloud-shared links, messaging apps sending "original quality" files, marketplaces and smaller sites often don't. Cleaning the photo yourself means you don't have to guess.
